“Carcharodontosaurus was a fearsome predator, possessing great strength and almost as large as T. rex. It's sure to be a much desired attraction for our guests.”
Carcharodontosaurus is a genus of carcharodontosaurid dinosaur that originated from Late Cretaceous Africa. A powerful carnivore, Carcharodontosaurus measures 14 meters in length, and is closely related to the slightly larger Giganotosaurus.
Carcharodontosaurus is included in the Cretaceous Dinosaur Pack, and can be unlocked by progressing through the Science Division on Isla Pena, where its fossils can subsequently be excavated in the Bahariya and Kem Kem Beds dig sites in Africa.
Closely related to Giganotosaurus, Carcharodontosaurus is one of the largest known species of theropod dinosaurs, distinguished by its elongated snout and assortment of spikes located along its back and head. In comparison to the Giganotosaurus, the Carcharodontosaurus has a narrower profile, with a snout which tapers to a point. Its jaws are equipped with serrated, razor-sharp teeth that resemble the teeth of a great white shark's, which gives the Carcharodontosaurus the name "shark-toothed lizard", as it was named after the scientific name of a great white shark, Carcharodon carcharias.
The behaviour of the Carcharodontosaurus is similar to that of other large theropods, with comparatively low comfort threshold and social needs. Without genetic modifications, they are content living in enclosures with up to fifteen other dinosaurs, though tolerate only one additional member of their own species.
The first fossil of Carcharodontosaurus were discovered by Charles Depéret and J. Savornin in Algeria in 1927. It was called Megalosaurus saharicus like many theropods that were formerly classified incorrectly.hello
- Carcharodontosaurus previously appeared in Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis, considered by many to be Jurassic World Evolution's spiritual predecessor.
